Do you have an identity statement that helps you succeed in Slavic dating?

Slavic-dating

A company has its mission statement or vision statement so that employees are able to follow that statement, thereby demonstrating the right behavior at work. Likewise, an individual can have an identity statement that states who this individual is. Basically, an identity statement influences this individual’s behavior, thoughts, and feelings because their identity statement is who they are. Therefore, having an identity statement can help you succeed in Slavic dating as well.

  • Think of who you want to be, and become that person.

Now let’s take Chris as an example. Chris had depression for a long time and was seeing a clinical psychologist. Realistically, psychology could only treat the basic symptoms of depression, which is totally valuable and definitely necessary. Nonetheless, psychology can’t cure the root cause of depression. Interestingly (and strangely), art, religion, and literature could cure the root cause of depression, though things like art, religion, and literature seem a bit useless in this modern society in which getting paid is a priority. The good news is Chris realized that seeing a clinical psychologist is far from enough. Therefore, he started to enjoy art, music, novels, and Zen. Most importantly, Chris printed his identity statement and put it on the wall: “I’m an artistic, creative, and intelligent guy. When challenging situations arise, I’m always calm and can maintain unfazeable stillness.” Now Chris is already a changed guy without depression.

  • You can change your identity.

Yes, you can change your identity and you probably should if you have depression or anxiety. You can even have an alter ego. I think your identity is very important due to the following reasons:

  1. It literally takes the thinking out of life. You just write down your identity statement and put it on the wall so you can see it every day. Always remind yourself that now this is who you really are.
  2. Once an identity is established, it’s not hard to maintain as it doesn’t require motivation anymore. It just is because it involves BE-ing!

Truthfully, your identity is certainly fundamental to everything in your life as it drives your emotions, thoughts and behavior. Usually, an individual’s identity is unexplored or even dismissed, for people often prefer the quick fix, i.e., practicing piano for 1 hour a day, cutting out dairy, running 10km, and so forth. But if you can get your identity figured out, everything falls into place naturally.

So, here is the “be – do – have” method:

  1. Be: Find a way of BE-ing that truly aligns with your value system.
  2. Do: Your new way of BE-ing propels into action.
  3. Have: The results of actions bring you to the ideal life you desire.

In fact, your values and beliefs are underpinned by your new identity. I would argue that before you find out your why, you should find out who you really are.

Now please let me give you the human onion analogy – What’s on the outside is actually the reflection of what’s happening inside. Thus, to change the outside, you have to change the inside in the first place. You must look at who you need to be first!

Okay. Who do you need to be in order to have the life you want? You can identify 3 qualities you really need when you work out an answer to this burning question: “Who do I need to be, to do what I really need to do, to get what I really want?” Then you think, act and behave like your new identity. I’m sure you will get what you deserve because it’s guaranteed according to Bailey Bosch.

After writing down an identity statement, you would be well-advised to set some rules, e.g., you’ll eat vegetables every single day, you’ll go to bed before 12 o’clock at night, and so on. Please try your best to stick to your new routine.

Identity statement → new rules → commitment → new results → motivation

Therefore, commitment actually comes before motivation! Isn’t this interesting?
