We are delighted to share the story of another couple who found each other through the Simply Dating website — Guido and Irina.
Irina is from Mykolaiv, Ukraine, while Guido lives in Asti, Italy. Their story shows how honest communication, consistency, and genuine interest can develop into a meaningful relationship, even across distance and language barriers.
Guido and Irina first made contact in August of last year, when Guido reached out to Irina. From the start, they stayed in touch regularly through messages and video calls. Seeing and speaking with each other helped them build trust and gain a deeper understanding of one another.
Their first real meeting took place in October in Ivano-Frankivsk, where they spent five days together. During this time, they talked extensively, discovered each other’s personalities, and shared simple everyday moments. Irina showed Guido the city introducing him to the local culture and lifestyle. At times, they used the assistance of an agency interpreter, while at other moments they communicated on their own with the help of an electronic translator Guido had brought along.
During this visit, Guido also met Irina’s family, including her daughter and grandson. Before parting, Guido invited Irina to spend Christmas and New Year with him in Italy, and she happily accepted.
They celebrated the holidays together in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Guido introduced Irina to his friends and relatives, making the visit an important milestone in their relationship.
Although Irina has now returned home, they remain in close contact through daily messages and video calls. They are already planning their next meeting, expected in May or possibly even sooner. Irina has also begun learning Italian, with Guido’s full encouragement and support.
